Dining at the castle

Our approach to cuisine is quite straightforward – we offer excellent food prepared simply and cooked to perfection. We source some of Scotland’s finest ingredients for the chefs to prepare at Amhuinnsuidhe Castle. Most of our seafood is collected right on our doorstep, with the Hebridean waters boasting probably the finest shellfish in the world. We pride ourselves on offering hospitality that is second to none and returning guests prove testament to this.

In keeping with the original layout of the dining room, our guests take dinner and breakfast at one sitting at the banqueting-size table. Dinner has a set, table d’hôte menu, although we’re able to cater for all dietary requirements. We’ll be pleased to discuss this with you when you make your booking. Alcoholic drinks are not included in our prices, but are available at separate cost.

The ultimate place to escape to, this Victorian castle is a retreat for all seasons. Guests can relax in comfort and enjoy an array of outdoor pursuits before returning to a warm welcome and refreshment.

Guests are invited to enjoy the castle’s beautiful public rooms, which include the dining room, drawing room, grand hall, billiard room and library. Located on the first floor – typical of Scottish castles of the period – they’re decorated with important works of art and fascinating antiques.

During your stay take the time to enjoy the dramatic sea views from the drawing room, entertain friends and family in the grand hall, enjoy a few frames of snooker in the billiard room or simply relax in the television room or library. While majestic in scale, all are comfortably furnished and offer a warm and relaxing environment.
