Bringing the three estates together offers new opportunities for tourism, the environment and local employment
We appreciate that we’re custodians of very precious places for future generations, and we’re working hard to ensure a sustainable future for all, commercially and environmentally.
One of our core objectives is to create jobs for local people, in tourism, fishing, hunting, ornithology, photography, water sports and other appropriate activities that are in harmony with the environment and the community.
From a cultural perspective, we actively support the preservation of the Gaelic language and traditional culture in our unique Hebridean environment.
Our conservation work at the three estates involves working with local communities to manage and protect the precious wildlife for the future.
This means that we act to preserve the unique wild salmon and sea trout fisheries in pristine condition without stocking, feeding or assisted breeding, and we manage the deer population in a sustainable manner, working with Lewis and Harris Deer Management Group and the local crofting grazing committee.
