Custodians of precious places
Being custodians of places as precious and beautiful as the three Rèasort Estates is a responsibility we take very seriously. Our objective is not simply to offer stunning and stimulating places to stay, but also to look after them for current and future generations to enjoy. We believe that we can best do this by maximising the opportunities that arise from the joining of our three adjacent estates: Amhuinnsuidhe, Morsgail and Uig & Hamanavay.
Working for a sustainable future
We’re working hard to ensure that Rèasort Estates and our associated partners have a sustainable present and future, commercially and environmentally. We strive for an economic balance between those with an interest in the estates, thereby promoting a sustainable business that has long-term resilience. One of our core objectives is to create jobs for local people, in tourism, fishing, hunting, water sports and other appropriate activities that are in harmony with the environment and the community.
Environmental and cultural richness
An integral element of a sustainable future is to preserve the unique wild salmon and sea trout fisheries in pristine condition without stocking, feeding or assisted breeding. Similarly, we recognise the need to manage the deer population in a sustainable manner, working with Lewis and Harris deer management group and the local crofting grazing committee. It’s our mission to continue fulfilling these duties.
We’re also proud to support the Gaelic language and traditional culture, which are an essential part of our unique Hebridean inheritance. We recognise that the islands’ heritage is also a reflection of the Norwegian kings’ two centuries of sovereignty over the Outer Hebrides until 1266.

Together these aims create our purpose, that all who live, work or visit the estates are fulfilled in their best and highest aspirations, and to encourage full participation of all who can identify with these objectives.
